Food Waste is a MONSTER

By Mia Matz: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and I am studying Illustration with a focus in sculpture.

In my personal practice, I aim to make commentary on topics that offer discourse to people who view them, often times through a mockery or even comedy. In this piece, I wanted to weave in my personal practice with a topic that I am passionate about, which is food waste! Especially for me living in a big city, food waste is extremely prevelant and we need to do something about it. Overall, this bin aims to visually bring in the audience in order for them to pay attention to the message I’m delivering.
